Artists are (and always have been) some of the most financially overlooked blessings on this earth.
Every eight seconds someone just scraping by who creates beautiful things for the world considers giving up and becoming a mechanic or something else they aren’t, racking their haggard brain for ways to survive in a world that tends not to financially value them while still being able to find the time and energy to continue to produce art for that same world. The more we donate to our art communities, the more artists won’t want to become things they are not, the less tired-looking they will be, and the more time they will have to create the stuff that makes being alive manageable and sometimes even magical, for everyone.
Donations are used for labor, manufacturing & printing costs, travel to conferences such as AWP, and building out a physical retreat center presence at Flying Fox Farm in Jacksonville, North Carolina.

$25,000 of our goal will cover printing, labor, shipping, distribution, and advertising costs for the next five years, and $25,000 of our goal and any other money we raise beyond that will go toward building our writers and artists retreat on Flying Fox Farm, including renovating existing spaces into studios, building small cabins, building maker spaces and a music production studio, and building an amphitheater and event spaces.
