Basic Tenets

  • We want Press Pause to be like walking into your favorite art museum during the week on a haggard and rare day off when everyone else is working. That one small art museum in that one corner of the city—the one that last month had that exhibit of dogs in the shapes of hats with dogs on them. What was that about?

  • Is this making sense?

  • We aren’t certain there is “good” and “bad” art—only honest and dishonest art…but we’ll get back to you on that. Suffice it to say, we really don’t want to be gatekeepers. We want to be a blank canvas.

  • Press Pause will feature art from everywhere and everyone, without discrimination.

  • Press Pause will never have a social media account. It will never promote itself (or get into online debates) on social media, so that the art that is shared can be appreciated within the embrace of a lovely now-uncommon silence.

  • We will always be on the lookout for opportunities to morph into what we need to be in order to maintain a large quiet embrace of all artists everywhere.

  • Submitting to Press Pause will always be free.

  • Press Pause is dedicated to paying our amazing contributors at the exact moment we grow to the point where we can. If you want to help us get to that point, please consider donating to Press Pause or shopping in our store.
